Watch art develop

I've had this title for an advertisement laying on my worktable for a couple of weeks. What I originally wanted to use in my journal was the photos that went with it. Every time I've tried to use them they don't seem to work. The other night I stuck the title on the page for some reason and the rest of the page flowed from it. I think I used it because it always amazes me how I can sit down with no earthly idea what I'm going to do on a page, and most of the time something just seems to come together on my pages.

The girl in the black flower is my grandma again.

HAve you ever documented the construction of a page? It would be interesting to me (and maybe others) to see how the page develops). My collage work always looks a bit haphazard and random. Well done!

That's a good idea Melissa. I'll try to do it soon. I hope it doesn't jinx the page. I tend to work really haphazardly myself. One thing leads to another and I try not to over think it too much.

I love your work and I check out your blog quite often... it is really an inspiration for my own journals.

I was wondering what it is you used to make that neat little square pattern on the bottom part of this spread...

Jenesis, the little squares are done by sponging ink through plastic needlepoint canvas. Any kind of a mesh works. I used a rainbow inkpad in autumn colors.
